Goals and Objectives
The “Improving Air Pollution Monitoring and Management of Vietnam with satellite PM2.5 observation” project aims to construct a complete dataset of PM2.5 distribution of the Vietnam region, as well as to develop translation products to provide comprehensive information on the PM2.5 nationwide to the public (including datasets, reports, videos, WebGIS), and disseminating these products to end users. These products will hopefully assist the public and government to take action to reduce the effects of air pollution on the environment and human health. Remote sensing technologies using satellites are implemented in this project to overcome the drawbacks of on-ground monitoring methods, along with machine learning techniques to create air pollution maps of Vietnam. We are collaborating with multiple stakeholders to create the suitable translation products for the public.
Project outputs
Map dataset
A map dataset of daily PM2.5 distribution during the study period of 2019-2021. This will help with air quality monitoring at specific time and space for Vietnam. Request data here.
Annual Report!
An annual report of the status of PM2.5 pollution nationwide in Vietnam. Download the report in English and Vietnamese.
Public Education
Educational videos on air pollution and its effects on human health. Watch videos here.
WebGIS
WebGIS that allows for monitoring the state of PM2.5 in near real time nationwide in Vietnam. Access the WebGIS here.
